Part 1 – An Ode to Araku’s Farmers Cooperative: a Blueprint for a Better World

A couple receives hands-on training in their own coffee plot, mastering the skill of pruning their coffee bushes. Such intimate, in-field sessions 20 years ago marked the start of the Farmer Field School programme​ and laid the groundwork for the hundreds of thousands of training sessions that have, since the early 2000s, delivered crucial coffee cultivation expertise directly to Araku’s tribal farmers.

With the United Nations declaring 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives, it prompts us to reflect on what cooperation truly means in practice.
